According to MBS News, Geummi, the crabbing boat which was freed after being seized by Somali pirates, is expected to arrive at Kenya's Mombasa port tomorrow.
Andrew Mwangura, who provided assistance in negotiations with the pirates, said that he heard from the relevant Somali parties that US$50,000, or roughly 55 million won, was handed over to the pirates to cover the cost of fuel as well as the meals of the crew.
KBS News reported that last week the government said that two staff from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries were despatched on-site so that upon Geummi's arrival, they would be able to gain an accurate understanding of the circumstances surrounding its release.
